Celebrating 50 years of Religious Life... (1961-2011)
| Share |
Fifty years ago we youthfully and joyfully said "yes" to the Lord's call to become Sisters of the Presentation of Mary and vowed our life to our relationship withGod and to working in his vineyard. Since that day we have been called upon to serve our sisters and God's people in teaching, nursing, pastoral care, parish and diocesan work, team leadership and other miscellaneous involvements along the way. Our lives have been blessed, full and challenging. We were enriched by the relationships we engaged in with our sisters, colleagues, students and friends.
We would like to share with you, our readers, the feelings of gratitude for all of life's gift and in particular for the wonderful recent celebration of our milestone, in the intimacy of our Presentation of Mary community.
Please join us in our expression of thanks:
Glorify the Lord with me, let us praise his name!
We are grateful for God's call, God's faithfulness during these many years – the grace of communal prayer, wonderful liturgical celebrations, retreats, renewals and the support of community life...
We are grateful for loved ones – our family members, our friends in community and others along the way, who loved us, challenged us, slowed us down and accepted us as we are...
We are grateful for our teachers and for our mentors on the spiritual and human journey...
We are grateful for "our inspiration: Marie Rivier, the foundress of The Sisters Presentation of Mary, and her gift of zeal to ann
ounce Jesus Christ", for our community leaders since the beginning of our religious life and every person who called upon our talents to be used in the service of mission...
We are grateful for persons young and old, for the serenity of our elderly sisters, the energetic involvement of all our sisters and for the enthusiasm of our young sisters... and also for all those persons encountered through the years...
We are grateful for those who rejoiced at our achievements, who challenged us to new growth, who loved us in spite of our failures, and wiped our tears when we were grieving painful losses...
Thank you and blessings on you.
