Sr. Janna's Experience

Yes, I am very happy to be a Sister of the Presentation of Mary after having lived at the Discernment house. While a student at the University of Saskatchewan in the College of Medicine, I lived with the Sisters of the Presentation in their Discernment House, Saskatoon, in 2000-1.
The opportunity to share in the Sisters' call and the House commitment to hospitality and vocation was a real blessing in my life. And along with the Sisters, I too was asked to play a role in making the House feel like a home for all those who visited us. Such care and attention was given to any guest to the House, from the friends and families of the girls living there, to the Sisters who often came to stay, to the families and individuals who came to celebrate the Eucharist with us every morning.
And I loved the celebrations. Birthdays, feast days and holidays were always celebrated with a special meal and decorations and community time. The change of liturgical seasons was special too. The Sisters have a real dedication to making each liturgy special.
And weekly spiritual direction with Sr. Chantelle was a real blessing to my faith journey. I learned a lot about myself and my faith. Community life has its challenges, but it was a great time of growth and fun, too. I am grateful to them for investing their time and interest in me.
