Campus Ministry

My name is Sr. Cindy Lewans, and I presently work part-time at Campion College at the U of R as Campus Ministry Support. In this ministry, I provide pastoral counseling (a listening ear), and help organize and facilitate worship services, interfaith activities, special fun events, retreats, and community outreach or volunteer opportunities for staff and students.
Being at a Jesuit College (Campion College in Regina), our spiritual motto is "Finding God in all things," and this sums up for me what we do in campus ministry. Whether with students or staff, we witness to and affirm the presence of Christ in our midst, in the mysteries of our lives, in all we are called forth to be – that each student, each person reflects the light of Christ in their own way. I find it enriching to meet such diverse people here at Campion, all with different cultures, backgrounds, gifts and calls, and to learn from them.
The most fulfilling part of this ministry for me is when someone comes to share with me his / her present experience – whether it be joys, sorrows or struggles. I am blessed by their entrusting such sacred stories with me, and these experiences help me grow in my journey, as well as a greater faith in the mercy and compassion of God for each one of us. This, to me, is how I fulfill our mission as a Presentation of Mary Sister: to be present to another, sharing in the mystery of their lives, and how God is carrying and loving them throughout it all.
