Our discernment house is located at 851 University Drive, Saskatoon, SK CANADA with the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? Are a young single, Catholic woman or man searching for the most loving response to Jesus Christ? You are welcome to attend a weekend of spiritual reflection & prayer at the discernment house in Saskatoon, with the Sisters of the Presentation! We provide discernment retreat weekends, where young single Catholics can review their lives and their relationship with Christ. They are guided in making their choice of a Christian lifestyle. AND WHERE WILL YOU GO? We also offer a long-term live in discernment program for Young, single Catholic women. It provides the opportunity to live in a Faith community where they can deepen their Christian faith, and discern Christian vocation through regular spiritual direction, pray, reflection, and service. Discernment retreat weekend: see how God works through your personal stories, and leads you by helping us to get in touch with who YOU are. Discover who you are in God and how you can best serve God according to who you are. Discernment I- Personal History Discernment retreat W/E 1: gives the opportunity to get in touch with the reality of your life, your relationships, dreams, gifts, talents, faith and faith community. You will be guided through a process of prayer and journaling, eventually leaving with a definite direction- What am I going to do?How is God calling me to move forward on my faith journey? Discernment II-Relationship with Jesus Christ in Prayer Discernment retreat W/E 2: looks at Jesus in Scripture. The will of God is Jesus. He is the One who leads us to the way, the Truth and to the Life. In Jesus, discover life itself. Discover what prayer is. Be guided in different prayer methods. Together, study Theresa of Avila & John of the Cross, the great Masters of prayer. Faith is life and life is faith. Discernment III- Christian Lifestyles Discernment retreat W/E 3: listen to speakers share their lived experience in marriage, as single young adults, missionaries, priests, women and men religious. Time for prayer, reflection, sharing and questions. The speakers are good models to look up to as the young adults discern their calling in life. |

Retreat I – Personal History Weekend: (offered twice each year) 2010 - Friday, JANUARY 15 – Sunday, JANUARY 17 2010- Friday, MAY 14 – Sunday, MAY 16 Retreat II – Relationship With Christ (in Prayer) 2010 - Friday, FEBRUARY 26 – Sunday, FEBRUARY 28 Retreat III – Christian lifestyles 2010 - No date set yet...  ALL RETREATS: begin at 7:00 Fri. evening and end Sunday with the noon meal. Sunday Mass is included in the retreat. An offering of $40.00 is appreciated for the weekend, meals included. 20th Anniversary Discernment House Reunion 2006
On August 26th we gathered in Saskatoon to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Discernment House in Sskatoon, Sskatchewan Canada! It was with great joy and consolation that we joined with many of the former women who lived with us in our house in the past 20 years!. We all gave thanks to God for blessings received over the years: For approximately 1200 Youth who have attended our Discernment Weekends. For the 118 young women who have come tho live a faith community experience with us! For the 6 young women who have entered our congregation - the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary. For the 8 other women who have entered other communities. For the 6 young men who have attended discernment weekends and been ordained to the priesthood. For approximately 65 young women who have received the sacrament of Marriage. We have trusted in God's promise: "I know well the plans I have I mind for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare, not for woe! Plans to give you a future full of hope. When you call me, when you go to pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me." (Jer. 29:11-13) ::see discernment testimonials |
