CD: Sounds of Guadalupe; Keep the Circle Strong. It contains 16 Country Gospel Songs, performed by members of the Guadalupe Music Ministry Team. The CD has been more successful than ever dreamed and has become a tool of empowerment, & an instrument of healing.

First Nations ministry and outreach

We help our First Nations brothers and sisters develop their leadership qualities. They are a beautiful people loved by God. Marie Rivier would be with them today, if she were still working on earth. It is truly with a sense of living her charism that we journey with them, that we strive with them to regain their dignity as children of a loving Father.

Outreach: Outreach ministry to seven different reserves and one Metis settlement is one important facet of our ministry. As Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, we service the First Nations people in many capacities. With few available priests our sisters have been commissioned by the Bishop of Prince Albert to preside over baptisms, marriages and funerals. Our Sisters do the sacramental preparation while helping First Nations people to take on leadership within their own church.

We believe: Living with the people of another culture is an important step in evangelisation and have a community of sisters living on the Big River Reserve. This our White Fish Mission, ables us to 'be with and for' those whom we serve in a privileged manner. Our presence is one of listening and service at all times. Our doors are ALWAYS OPEN to any who come. Personal contact and home visitation is a priority.

Together: Through the sharing of our lives, catechetical instruction and sacramental preparation, we share the compassionate and healing presence of Christ with one another.

First Nations Ministries

Marie Rivier’s vision: to make Jesus Christ known and loved, to have a tender and loving care of the poor, to see Jesus Christ in those we serve. This is truly realized in our ministry to First Nations people. Our ministry focuses on healing. Often among the poorest, oppressed as a nation; they have been marginalised, exploited and often abused. Many have become strangers in their own land.

As Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, we immerse ourselves in their culture. All cultural activities are preceded with forms of prayer such as round dances, feasts ‘give aways’, fasts (4 days alone with the Creator), and sweats. When we work closely with First Nations People, we discover their gifts. They are truly a very religious people.

Working with the First Nations, we are sensitive to their unique culture. We help lead them to discover a Jesus that is meaningful to them and to their culture. Jesus came for all. We remember that God has always been with them.
